I am thrilled to discuss an exciting idea that could potentially transform our community's livelihood. An open-source, automated system to provide products and/or services in abundance, ensuring a sustainable income flow for everyone involved. I believe this could significantly improve our quality of life and foster economic growth in our village. However, I need your valuable input and expertise to make this vision a reality.
Context:
As we embark on this project, we want to emphasize the principles of openness, collaboration, and sustainability. Our village must be rich in skilled individuals, making it an ideal place to implement an automated system. To ensure its benefits extend beyond our village, we aim to create a model that other communities can adopt. Therefore, we will focus on open-source software and hardware, making our development infrastructure, programming languages, and standards accessible and replicable for any other village interested in similar projects.

Defining the Development Infrastructure: To create a successful open-source project, we need to establish a robust development infrastructure. What tools, platforms, and version control systems should we adopt to facilitate collaboration among contributors from various locations?

It's particularly noteworthy that the initial goal is to utilize Ubuntu Linux and Robot Operating System (ROS) as the foundation for this project.
Using Ubuntu Linux as the operating system will provide a stable and widely supported platform, making it accessible to a broader audience.
